Gordon mill

FREDERICK COUNTY, MD

Gordon Mill was meticulously designed to maximize the physical, historical, and environmental attributes of the site while seamlessly blending neo-traditional homes. The plan comprises of distinct hamlets situated in the formerly cultivated regions of the property. Neo-traditional residences occupy visible locations and employ compact lot configurations to minimize land usage, enabling the protected green infrastructure and a network of interconnected green areas and corridors to take center stage. Additionally, the historic home on the property will be conserved and cared for on a prominent lot, serving as a communal gathering point and located adjacent to a park area.

To promote connectivity and outdoor exploration, each neighborhood within the community will either be linked by a hardscape trail or have access to a natural surface trail. Furthermore, an interactive Nature Trail will be situated in close proximity to Grist Mill and Meadowsweet Roads. The design also includes various formal greens and commons scattered throughout the development, providing ample space for neighbors to gather informally and relish the open air. In addition, residents will have access to recreational amenities, including two playgrounds, a dog park, and pickleball courts, further enhancing quality of life.
